Talking on a cell phone while driving as dangerous as driving drunk?

Nationwide, an estimated 636,000 crashes annually – 6 percent of all accidents – are attributed to cell phone use while driving, including 330,000 injuries and 2,600 deaths.

19 States currently ban all drivers from texting while driving. More than 120 bills are pending in 26 states to expand or improve these laws. Six states also outlaw the use of hand-held cell phones while driving.
