Outcome: Undisclosed Settlement

A young woman was a passenger in a car when the driver lost control. The young woman was seriously injured and she retained another law firm. That law firm collected the policy limits settlement from the driver and then demanded policy limits from the young woman’s underinsured motorist carrier. This insurer denied timely and fair payment. The young woman’s lawyer obtained an award many times larger than the underinsured motorist policy limits. The young woman then retained our firm to handle her claims for insurance bad faith. We filed suit against her insurance company, alleging that the company had treated her unfairly, committed bad faith, and abused the legal process. This case was settled prior to trial.
