Jury finds for girl who suffered cartilage damage to her knee
A Columbia County jury awarded more than a half a million dollars to a girl who suffered significant cartilage loss in her knee after an orthopedic surgeon placed a pain pump following a routine knee arthroscopy, without informing her of safer, more effective, and more widely used options for post-operative pain management. The defendant and his insurance company did not offer any money to settle the case before trial. Attorney Eric J. Haag tried the case for 5 days before the jury returned its verdict.
Jury awards in excess of $500,000
